SALUTI DA BRIENZA

These postcards, in fact, allow for a highly detailed reconstruction, albeit fragmentary and unfortunately incomplete, of the various aspects of Brienza (Burgentia) in Lucanian territory. It should be noted that, although these illustrations were not intended to document local realities in an analytical way, they nonetheless succeeded in conveying, along with the “greetings,” images of local life that were sometimes of particular significance, such as civic and military events, gatherings, and religious festivals.
