SENZA RUMORE
by Adriano Cozza - preface by Mirella Conenna

Brienza 1799 funded the publication of the book Senza rumore, published by Et Cetera Libri, which collects all the poems of Adriano Cozza, a poet from Brienza who passed away prematurely. The volume was curated by Assunta Collazzo, Maria Teresa Cozza, and Daniela Cozza, with a preface by Mirella Conenna.
Born in Potenza on 18 August 1963, Adriano earned a classical high school diploma and continued his studies at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy at the University of Bari. He enriched his education with courses in radio and television journalism, Lucanian Popular Culture, and Historical Toponymy. He collaborated with several newspapers and publishing houses in Puglia and Basilicata, and nurtured passions for glottology, folklore, history, humor, cinema, and theater. He liked to describe himself as a “Sunday writer and amateur on all other days. Always and in any case a fantasist.”
Adriano participated in several literary competitions, often receiving awards, mentions, or publications. Among his many recognitions, some of the top placements include: 1st place in the Second Poetry Competition of the City of Potenza (1992), 1st place in “La Pulce Letteraria” (2004) in the Unpublished Poetry Anthology section with the work “Ventagliata o giù di lima 2004-1994”, and 2nd place in the 3rd edition of the Regional Poetry Prize “I Dialetti Lucani” in Rionero (2011).
Adriano suddenly passed away in Brienza on 24 September 2020.
